Some new-build clients require painting at two stages. First fix is before skirting boards, door frames, and architraves are installed. Second fix is the final decoration to walls and woodwork. We work to both schedules and advise on which rooms can be completed in a single visit where the build programme allows it.

Here’s How It Works

1. Site visit

We visit the property and assess the plasterboard walls. We check dryness, note any repairs or joints, and confirm the correct preparation system for each room.

2. Written quote

You receive a fixed-price written quote covering the sealing coat and all topcoat work agreed. We confirm the products and the number of coats at this stage.

3. Surface preparation

Any cracks, joints, or areas of filler are checked and sanded back. We confirm the plaster is fully dry before the sealing coat is applied. Damp plaster cannot be painted and we will not apply paint to a surface that is not ready.

4. Sealing coat

We apply the diluted sealing coat across all bare plaster surfaces. We allow it to dry fully before any topcoat is applied. This step cannot be rushed.

5. Topcoat application

Two full topcoats follow the sealing coat. We apply each coat evenly and allow full drying time between them. We walk the completed rooms with you before we leave.
